About Homoeopathy

A self-contained system of therapy that gently supports the natural, regenerative healing endeavors of the organism by raising the body's 'vital force'.

What is Homoeopathy

The Meaning Behind the Name

Homoeopathy—this truly tongue-twisting term, stemming from the Greek, stands for a system of therapy which gently supports the natural healing endeavors of the organism without causing any adverse side-effects. The name comes from the Greek words "homios" (like) and "pathos" (suffering). It simply means treating like with like.

In the fourth century B.C., Hippocrates observed that certain natural substances produce symptoms in healthy people resembling those caused by disease, while smaller doses of those same substances can relieve them. In the 1790s, German physician Samuel Hahnemann amplified this concept into the law of "Similia similibus curentur"—Like cures like.

Homoeopathic remedies are diluted to such an extent that there can be no possible side effects even from toxic substances. This process is known as 'potentation'. In this ultra-diluted form, remedies are safe, non-toxic, and non-addictive, appealing to patients no longer prepared to "swallow" the side effects of conventional drugs.

Homoeopathy vs Allopathy

Two Different Approaches to Healing

Clinical bacterial and viral complaints are the end result of an imbalance. Simply eradicating the bacteria is not getting to the cause of the disease. A better approach is to strengthen the vital healing force so the body does not become infected when exposed.

The Allopathic Approach

Aims to "suppress" symptoms with strong chemical drugs. This often masks symptoms for temporary relief, but when drugs are stopped, symptoms may return in an aggravated state. Over time, synthetic chemicals can weaken the body's Immune System.

The Homoeopathic Approach

Built around the natural healing laws of nature. It views disease as an imbalance of the "Vital Healing Force"—an energy connected through meridians (channels) in the body. It addresses Genetic, Psychological, Functional, and Clinical imbalances.

This world-wide renaissance of homoeopathic remedies allows for holistic drug treatment without side effects, reflecting a gratifying change in the prescribing habits of modern doctors.

Safe but Effective

The Science of Micro-Doses

According to doctrine, the more diluted the solution, the more potent it is. Theorists suggest that succussion (shaking) creates an electrochemical pattern or "electromagnetic imprinting" stored in the water carrier that affects the body's electromagnetic field.

This concept is also found in Ayurveda, where water is "potentized" by contact with gold and gemstones, despite no molecular transfer taking place.

This phenomenon is known as Hormesis. Scientists at Michigan State University used microdoses of fertilizer (9x dilution) to increase tomato yields by 30% and corn by 25%. Similarly, our bodies use minute amounts of hormones; Thyroid hormone is present at only 1 part per 10 billion, yet it regulates our entire metabolism.

It is comparable to the theory of the atomic bomb: energy is generated by splitting the central cores (nuclei) of atoms. In homoeopathy, drug substances are split into even smaller atoms, generating more and more energy.

Direction of Healing

The Three Laws of Cure

Homoeopathic healing follows specific natural principles. When a remedy is working correctly, the cure follows these three laws:

1
A remedy starts at the top of the body and works downward.
2
A remedy works from within the body outward, and from major to minor organs.
3
Symptoms clear in reverse order of their appearance.

These principles mean you will often feel better emotionally before you feel better physically. Homoeopathy offers a safe alternative to conventional treatments for a wide range of diseases and complications.
